Saudi Arabia Executes Afghan Drug Smuggler in Makkah
Saudi Arabia has executed an Afghan man for smuggling heroin in the Makkah region. The execution took place on Thursday, following final approval from the royal court.

The Ministry of Interior confirmed that Muhammad Asghar Mohabbat was caught smuggling heroin by law enforcement officers. He was arrested during a security operation in Makkah and taken into custody immediately.

The suspect was charged and prosecuted with strong evidence. The court found him guilty and sentenced him to death according to Saudi law. The high court later upheld the verdict, and royal approval was granted for the execution.

Authorities carried out the sentence in Makkah on Thursday. The ministry stated that the action was taken to protect society from the dangers of drugs. The government remains firm in punishing those who deal in narcotics.

Saudi Arabia enforces very strict laws against drug crimes. Smuggling or possessing large amounts of drugs can result in the death penalty. This is especially the case if someone is caught with over 50 grams of heroin, cocaine, or similar substances.
