Severe Dust Storm Forecast in Pakistan, Public Advised to Stay Indoors

Severe Dust Storm Expected in Pakistan, NDMA Issues Safety Advisory
A strong dust storm is expected to sweep across parts of Pakistan, prompting authorities to urge citizens to avoid unnecessary outdoor activities.
According to the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA), a severe dust storm is forecasted to impact western and southern regions, including parts of Balochistan, starting from May 27.
The NDMA stated that dust concentration levels could exceed 1,000 micrograms per cubic meter, significantly reducing visibility and posing risks to public health and infrastructure.
Potential damage from the storm includes harm to buildings, vehicles, and power infrastructure. Citizens have been advised to avoid standing near trees, billboards, and unstable structures. The public is also encouraged to park vehicles in secure areas and limit movement during the storm to ensure safety.
The NDMA has asked residents to stay alert and follow official updates as the weather system develops.
