Shehbaz Sharif Advances Peace Mission with Key Turkey Visit

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif reached Antalya to advance his peace mission after completing visits to Saudi Arabia and Qatar. This Turkey visit marks the third phase of diplomatic efforts aimed at easing regional tensions and promoting dialogue.

According to the Prime Minister’s Office, Antalya Governor Hulusi Şahin warmly received the Pakistani delegation at the airport. Meanwhile, Pakistan’s Ambassador to Turkey, Yusuf Junaid, and senior diplomatic officials were also present to welcome the delegation and support ongoing engagements.

During the visit, the prime minister will attend the Fifth Antalya Diplomacy Forum. He is scheduled to join the Leaders Panel, where he will present Pakistan’s perspective on regional peace, cooperation, and the importance of sustained diplomatic dialogue among global stakeholders.

In addition, meetings are expected with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and other international leaders. The delegation includes Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, Information Minister Attaullah Tarar, Special Assistant Tariq Fatemi, and international media spokesperson Musharraf Zaidi.

Earlier, during his Qatar visit, the prime minister Shehbaz Sharif met Emir Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani and discussed the Gulf situation. He stressed dialogue and de-escalation for peace and stability. Previously in Jeddah, he met Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, reaffirming unity and advancing his peace mission through strategic engagements.
