Shehbaz Sharif Congratulates Iranian President on Historic Peace Agreement During Phone Call

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian held a telephone conversation after the signing of a historic peace deal in Islamabad. During the call, Prime Minister Sharif congratulated the Iranian leadership and people, calling the Pakistan-Iran peace agreement a major step toward regional stability and stronger relations between the two neighboring countries.

According to a statement issued by the Prime Minister’s Office, this was the first contact between the two leaders following the signing of the agreement. The discussion lasted for more than 30 minutes, during which they exchanged views on regional developments and future cooperation between Pakistan and Iran.

Prime Minister Sharif said the agreement would not only help promote peace in the region but would also support Iran’s reconstruction and development efforts. He added that the deal would strengthen cooperation in trade, economic development, and other areas of mutual interest. The prime minister also conveyed his warm wishes and respect to Iran’s Supreme Leader.

The Pakistani premier praised Iran’s decision to sign the agreement and expressed hope for the success of the next phase of negotiations. He reaffirmed that Pakistan would continue to support Iran as a friendly neighboring country and would work closely with Tehran to enhance bilateral ties.

President Masoud Pezeshkian thanked Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir for their role in supporting the mediation process. He said Iran highly values Pakistan’s sincere and constructive support during challenging times. Both leaders agreed to remain in close contact and exchange visits in the future, expressing confidence that the Pakistan-Iran peace agreement would further strengthen friendship and cooperation between the two nations.
