A nine-member delegation from the International Monetary Fund (IMF), led by Mission Chief Nathan Porter, arrived in Islamabad on Monday to conduct an economic review of Pakistan.

According to sources within the Ministry of Finance, discussions are set to continue until March 15. The initial phase will focus on technical negotiations, followed by policy-level discussions. The IMF team is also expected to provide recommendations for Pakistan’s fiscal year 2025-26 budget, with any potential relief for the salaried class contingent on IMF approval.

The delegation will engage with key government institutions, including the Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Energy, Planning Commission, and the State Bank of Pakistan.

Additionally, discussions are scheduled with regulatory bodies such as the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR), the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA), and the National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA), along with provincial governments.
