Teen girl arrested after killing mother over property dispute in India

In a shocking incident reported from India’s Jharkhand state, a 17-year-old girl has allegedly killed her mother with the help of her boyfriend and three associates, according to Indian media reports.

Police said the incident took place in the Minitola area, where the victim, identified as Naaheeda Parveen, lived with her adopted teenage daughter after the death of her husband four years ago. Following her husband’s death, Parveen had reportedly received a financial settlement of around 4.5 million rupees, in which her daughter was the sole nominee.

Investigators said the teenager had been frequently withdrawing money from her mother’s bank account and handing it over to her 20-year-old boyfriend, Arbaz. When Parveen discovered this, she reportedly warned her daughter and stopped her from accessing the funds, which allegedly led the girl and her boyfriend to plan the murder.

On April 24, the girl, along with Arbaz and three of his associates, allegedly strangled her mother using a pillow while she was at home. Reports claim the accused paid around 1.2 million rupees to carry out the killing.

The following day, the girl informed relatives that her mother had died after slipping in the bathroom. However, family members became suspicious after noticing marks on the victim’s neck. The victim’s brother-in-law subsequently filed a complaint with police.

Law enforcement officials said both the teenager and her boyfriend were taken into custody for questioning. During interrogation, the girl reportedly confessed to her involvement in the murder.

Police have launched further investigations to determine the full circumstances of the crime, including the role of the additional accused individuals and the financial motives behind the killing.

The case has shocked local communities and drawn widespread attention due to the nature of the crime and the involvement of a minor.
