Islamabad Court Declares PTI Leader Shehzad Akbar a Proclaimed Offender

The District and Sessions Court of Islamabad has officially declared Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Shehzad Akbar a proclaimed offender, issuing arrest warrants against him.
In its written order, the court stated that Shehzad Akbar repeatedly failed to appear despite multiple summons, leaving the court with no option but to proceed with declaring him an absconder under the law.
According to court documents, the challan of the case filed against Akbar has already been submitted; however, his persistent absence has stalled further legal proceedings.
The case against Shehzad Akbar was registered over controversial statements made on social media, with the NCCIA lodging the FIR in July 2025.
After the fall of the PTI government, Shehzad Akbar moved to the United Kingdom, where he holds citizenship. He was also reportedly injured in an acid attack in London a few months ago.
