Imaan Mazari arrest order

ISLAMABAD – A district and sessions court has ordered authorities to arrest Imaan Mazari and her husband Hadi Ali Chatha. The couple skipped a hearing in the controversial tweets case, prompting strict court action. The court directed that they be produced before it within 24 hours.

During the hearing, Islamabad Police DIG Javed Tariq appeared before the court. Judge Afzal Majoka questioned him about the failure to execute previous arrest warrants. The judge emphasized that authorities must act immediately, regardless of the suspects’ location.

The judge warned that the warrants must be executed even if the couple is in Pakistan, India, or Afghanistan. He added that non-compliance would lead to contempt of court proceedings. The court’s strict instructions left no room for delays.

DIG Javed Tariq assured the court that the arrest warrants would be implemented. The court then announced a brief recess, reminding officials that failure to comply could trigger legal consequences. The statement underscored the urgency of the matter.
