Doctor found dead in car Lahore hospital

A doctor was found dead under mysterious circumstances inside his car in the parking area of Lahore Children’s Hospital on Monday. The deceased was identified as Dr Ahmad Latif, who was affiliated with the hospital’s haematology department. Authorities revealed that his vehicle had been parked at the same spot for nearly four days without drawing attention from hospital staff or security personnel.

Sources familiar with the case stated that certain medicines or drugs were recovered from inside or near the vehicle, raising questions about the circumstances leading to his death. Despite Dr Latif’s unexplained absence from duty for several days, no immediate alarm was raised by the hospital administration.

Following the discovery, hospital authorities moved swiftly to initiate an internal investigation. A four-member inquiry committee has been formed to determine the cause of death and assess any possible negligence. The committee is headed by Professor Dr Saima Farhan and includes Dr Ali Abuzar, Dr Hafiz Atif Nazir, and Dr Ayesha Khanam as members.

Officials said the committee has been instructed to submit its findings within 24 hours. The investigation is expected to examine security protocols, staff oversight, and any medical or external factors that may have contributed to the incident.

In a separate development, authorities in Karachi recently uncovered the skeletal remains of a woman missing for nearly three decades during excavation work in Orangi Town. The remains were identified as Mumtaz Begum, who had disappeared in 1994, with her daughter alleging foul play in the case.
