The government has rejected the opposition’s proposal seeking permission to meet Imran Khan, the founder of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf. The issue was discussed in both the Senate and the National Assembly, where government representatives defended the existing legal and administrative procedures. Moreover, officials stated that prison meeting rules cannot be used for political purposes.

Rana Sanaullah also said that Imran Khan and his wife Bushra Bibi are receiving the best possible medical treatment. According to him, the government is fulfilling all legal and humanitarian responsibilities related to their care.
