Iran Offers Help to Resolve Pakistan–Afghanistan Differences

Iran’s top security official, Ali Larijani, has said that Iran is ready to help resolve Pakistan-Afghanistan differences whenever Pakistan requests. He added that the disagreements between the two neighboring countries are a matter of concern for Iran, and peaceful solutions are very important for regional stability.

Speaking at a press conference in Islamabad, Larijani said that his meeting with Field Marshal Asim Munir focused on strengthening Pakistan-Iran strategic partnership. He explained that both countries now need a clear and comprehensive strategic framework based on their mutual needs and regional challenges.

Larijani said that intelligence sharing between Pakistan and Iran is already part of their cooperation. He added that if asked, Iran is fully prepared to play a positive role between Pakistan and Afghanistan to improve relations and reduce tensions.

While discussing economic matters, Larijani said that Iran has fulfilled its responsibilities regarding the Iran-Pakistan gas pipeline. He stated that if there were no obstacles, Pakistani households would already be using Iranian gas. He expressed hope that the gas pipeline issue would be resolved soon.

In his final remarks, Larijani again highlighted that Pakistan-Afghanistan differences must be addressed through cooperation and stability. He also stressed that terrorism is a common challenge for both Pakistan and Iran, and joint action is necessary to secure long-term peace in the region.
