Iranian President Meets President Zardari and PM Shehbaz, Praises Pakistan’s Efforts

Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian held separate meetings with President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif during his visit to Pakistan. The discussions focused on bilateral relations, regional connectivity, economic cooperation, and efforts to strengthen peace and stability in the region. The meetings highlighted the importance of Pakistan-Iran relations and the shared commitment of both countries to enhancing cooperation.
According to a statement issued by the Presidency, President Zardari welcomed President Pezeshkian on his first visit to Pakistan following recent regional tensions. He said the visit reflected the enduring friendship between the two neighboring countries and reaffirmed Pakistan’s support for Iran’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.
President Zardari also congratulated the Iranian leader on the signing of the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding and expressed hope that ongoing technical-level discussions would contribute to lasting peace in the region. He emphasized that Pakistan has consistently supported dialogue and diplomacy as the best means of resolving regional and international challenges.

President Pezeshkian thanked Pakistan for its constructive role in promoting peace and negotiations. He praised Islamabad’s support during difficult circumstances and stated that Iran places great importance on its relationship with Pakistan. He added that Tehran is keen to expand cooperation in political, economic, security, and regional affairs.
Later, the Iranian president met Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif. According to the Prime Minister’s Office, Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar and Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir were also present during the meeting. Delegation-level talks were held between the two sides to discuss ways to further strengthen cooperation. Observers believe the meetings represent a positive step toward deeper Pakistan-Iran relations and greater regional stability.
