Iran’s Deputy Foreign Minister and head of the Iranian technical negotiating team, Kazem Gharibabadi, has announced that the latest round of Iran-US technical talks held in Switzerland has concluded successfully, according to Iranian media reports.

Gharibabadi said the discussions were aimed at paving the way for a comprehensive final agreement between Tehran and Washington. He confirmed that four specialized working groups have been established to advance negotiations on key issues.

According to Iranian officials, the newly formed working groups include a sanctions lifting group, a nuclear affairs group, an economic development and reconstruction group, and a monitoring and implementation group. Each group will focus on detailed technical discussions and policy recommendations within its respective domain.

The objective of these groups is to build a structured foundation for a future agreement that addresses longstanding disputes between the two countries. Officials said that the process is designed to ensure a more organized and results-oriented negotiation framework moving forward.

Gharibabadi added that under the initial understanding reached during the talks, the next phase of negotiations will be supervised by a high-level committee. This committee will reportedly include Iran’s Parliament Speaker, the Iranian Foreign Minister, the US Vice President, as well as the Prime Ministers of Pakistan and Qatar.

Iranian authorities stated that the broader aim of the negotiations is to reduce tensions between Tehran and Washington, resolve issues related to sanctions, address disputes over Iran’s nuclear program, and promote regional stability through a comprehensive agreement.

Diplomatic observers say the formation of multiple working groups signals a shift toward more structured engagement, although significant political and technical challenges remain before any final deal can be reached.

Further rounds of discussions are expected in the coming weeks as stakeholders continue efforts to narrow differences and build consensus on key contentious issues.
