Pro-Khalistan protest briefly disrupts Diljit Dosanjh concert in San Francisco

A concert by Indian Punjabi singer and actor Diljit Dosanjh was briefly disrupted when a pro-Khalistan supporter entered the stage holding a flag during a live performance in San Francisco, according to social media footage circulating online.
The incident occurred during one of the shows of Dosanjh’s ongoing “Aura World Tour,” which includes back-to-back international performances across multiple cities. The singer was performing before a large and energetic audience when the unexpected interruption took place.
Videos shared online show a man carrying a Khalistan flag suddenly appearing on stage mid-performance, prompting immediate reaction from security personnel. The individual was swiftly apprehended and escorted off the stage, while the show was briefly disturbed.

Additional footage circulating on social media shows local law enforcement officers detaining the same individual. Reports suggest that he was first removed from the venue and later taken into custody by authorities for further questioning.
Despite the disruption, Diljit Dosanjh continued his performance without significant delay, and event organisers managed to restore order quickly, allowing the concert to proceed smoothly.
This is not the first time Dosanjh’s concerts have been linked to pro-Khalistan related interruptions. Earlier this year, during another leg of his “Aura 2026” tour in Canada, a similar incident occurred when a group of protesters raised Khalistan flags and chanted slogans inside the venue, temporarily disturbing the event.
The latest incident once again highlights the recurring nature of political protests at high-profile Punjabi music events abroad. However, organisers have consistently maintained that security measures are strengthened at every venue to ensure the safety of performers and attendees.
Authorities have not yet issued an official statement regarding charges against the detained individual, while investigations into the incident are ongoing.
