Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has introduced a new merit system for hiring doctors. The Health Department announced this change through an official notification. This new merit system aims to make recruitment more transparent and fair for all candidates applying in the province.

According to the notification, educational marks will carry 60 percent weight in the selection process. Moreover, 20 percent marks will be given for higher education qualifications. In addition, another 20 percent will be reserved for the interview, making the total score 100.

Furthermore, the department introduced a new grading system to improve transparency. It will divide candidates based on first, second, and third division degrees. As a result, the system will better evaluate academic performance during selection.
