KP launches digital teacher transfer system 2026

The government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has introduced a new digital system aimed at reforming teacher transfers, marking a shift toward transparency and efficiency in the education sector.
Provincial Minister for Elementary and Secondary Education Arshad Ayub Khan formally inaugurated the E-Transfer Policy Plus in Peshawar. The initiative is designed to streamline how teachers and administrative staff are transferred across schools in the province.
Under the E-Transfer Policy Plus 2026, transfers will be carried out through a structured digital platform covering teaching staff, education management personnel, and ministerial cadres. The system incorporates both manual and vacancy-based transfers, along with tenure-based postings.

Officials explained that the policy relies on a merit-driven scoring system. Factors such as length of service at a particular school, student-teacher ratios, academic performance, and attendance records are considered when processing transfer requests. Additional weight is given to individuals with disabilities, widows, and those with higher qualifications or specific domicile requirements.
The system also allows teachers to apply for transfers through an online platform or mobile application, reducing the need for physical visits and minimizing reliance on informal channels.
Speaking at the launch, the minister said the initiative represents a significant step toward ensuring fairness and accessibility. He noted that teachers previously faced difficulties and lacked a transparent mechanism for transfers, often depending on personal connections.
Education officials believe the new system will not only improve administrative processes but also contribute to better academic outcomes by ensuring a more balanced distribution of teaching staff. The government has indicated that further improvements will be made to enhance the system’s effectiveness and support long-term educational reforms in the province.
