Pakistan, Azerbaijan Chiefs Discuss Regional Maritime Security Issues

Azerbaijan Naval Forces visit Pakistan

RAWALPINDI – Commander Azerbaijan Naval Forces, Rear Admiral Shahin Mammadov, called on Admiral Naveed Ashraf, Chief of the Naval Staff, at Naval Headquarters in Islamabad. Upon arrival, he was received with full military honors, and a Pakistan Navy contingent presented the Guard of Honour. The visiting dignitary also laid a floral wreath at the Shuhada’s Monument, paying tribute to the fallen heroes.

During the meeting, both leaders discussed regional maritime security, bilateral defense cooperation, and opportunities for enhanced training initiatives. They highlighted the importance of working together to address common security challenges. Additionally, the discussions focused on strengthening the scope and depth of the existing naval relationship between Pakistan and Azerbaijan.

 Admiral Ashraf briefed Rear Admiral Mammadov on Pakistan Navy’s ongoing projects and future initiatives. The briefing provided insight into modernization efforts, operational readiness, and capacity-building programs within the navy. Both sides emphasized collaboration in defense technology and strategic maritime operations.

Pakistan and Azerbaijan share longstanding brotherly relations, including close naval cooperation.
