Pak Hajj Mission returns lost cash belt to pilgrim in Makkah

The Lost and Found Cell of the Pakistan Hajj Mission has demonstrated strong professionalism and integrity after successfully recovering and returning a lost belt containing a significant amount of cash to a Pakistani pilgrim in Makkah, according to an APP report.
The incident involved a pilgrim, Usman Shahid from Lahore, who had arrived in Jeddah via Saudi Airlines flight SV-3735. During his arrival at the airport, his Ihram belt accidentally fell off, resulting in the loss of 4,308 Saudi Riyals, equivalent to approximately 325,000 Pakistani rupees.
According to Rana Mujahid, Shift Incharge of the Lost and Found Cell in Makkah, the belt was initially found by Haider Ali, a member of the Pakistan Hajj Mission team stationed at Jeddah Airport. Despite the absence of any identification documents or contact details inside the belt, the team ensured that the item was securely transferred to the central Lost and Found Cell in Makkah for safekeeping.

Meanwhile, the pilgrim had already reported the missing belt and cash to the mission while staying at his accommodation in Makkah. Officials began a verification process after he provided detailed information, including identifying marks and the exact amount of money lost.
Rana Mujahid stated that after thorough cross-checking of all details, the team confirmed ownership and invited the pilgrim to their office. The cash and belt were then formally returned to him.
Usman Shahid expressed deep gratitude upon receiving his belongings, stating that he had been extremely distressed after the loss. He praised the Pakistan Hajj Mission and Saudi authorities for their honesty and efficient service, saying their support exceeded his expectations.
Officials from the Hajj Mission reiterated their commitment to serving pilgrims and ensuring immediate assistance for their concerns. They also advised pilgrims to take extra care of their belongings during travel and stay.
The incident highlights the dedication of Hajj mission staff in facilitating pilgrims and maintaining trust during the sacred journey.
