Pakistan working to de-escalate Iran US tensions

Chairman Ulema Council Hafiz Muhammad Tahir Mehmood Ashrafi has said that Pakistan is actively making efforts to stop the ongoing tensions between Iran and the United States and is hopeful of playing a positive role in restoring peace.
Addressing the Istihkam-e-Pakistan Seminar in Gujranwala, he expressed confidence that Pakistan would succeed in its efforts to de-escalate the conflict. He also appreciated Saudi Arabia and other Islamic countries for demonstrating patience and restraint during the current regional crisis.
Tahir Ashrafi stated that Pakistan is a peace-loving country and remains committed to promoting stability and harmony in the region. He highlighted that several foreign ministers from Muslim countries recently visited Pakistan to discuss ways to reduce tensions in the Middle East, particularly in light of the ongoing conflict involving Iran, Israel and the United States.
Speaking about regional security, he said that Afghanistan is an important neighbouring country, and Pakistan has a clear stance that its soil must not be used for terrorist activities against Pakistan. He emphasised that mutual cooperation and responsible actions are necessary to ensure peace along the border.
Ashrafi further stressed that unity and collective responsibility are essential for national progress and stability. He noted that challenges faced by the country can only be addressed through coordinated efforts and a shared commitment to peace.
He concluded by reiterating that Pakistan will continue its diplomatic efforts to bring stability in the region while maintaining its principled stance on peace and non-interference
