Petrol Price Increased to Rs258.17 Per Litre

The federal government has increased petroleum product prices, effective immediately. Petrol prices rose by Rs5 per litre. High-speed diesel prices increased by Rs7.32 per litre. The price hike will remain for the next 15 days. The decision was announced through an official notification.
According to the notification, the new petrol price is Rs258.17 per litre. High-speed diesel now costs Rs275.70 per litre. The petroleum division issued the notification on Sunday. Authorities said the adjustment responds to rising international oil prices. The government will monitor the market regularly.
This is not the first recent increase in fuel prices. On January 31, high-speed diesel prices rose by Rs11.30 per litre. After that adjustment, diesel cost Rs268.38 per litre. Petrol, however, remained at Rs253.17 per litre. This provided temporary relief to consumers amid economic pressures.
