Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has paid tribute to former prime minister Zulfikar Ali Bhutto on his death anniversary, acknowledging his contributions to the country’s political and constitutional development.

In an official statement, the prime minister highlighted Bhutto’s role as a key national leader who worked towards strengthening Pakistan’s foundations. He noted that Bhutto’s leadership focused on national development, economic progress, and enhancing the country’s defence capabilities during a critical period in its history.

The prime minister particularly emphasised Bhutto’s contribution to the framing of the Constitution of Pakistan 1973, describing it as a landmark achievement that laid the groundwork for parliamentary democracy in the country. He said the constitution continues to serve as a guiding framework for governance and democratic institutions.
