PML-N Wins 12 Seats

The Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) achieved a commanding victory in by-elections held across 13 constituencies. The party secured 12 seats, winning six National Assembly seats and six out of seven Punjab Assembly constituencies. Only one seat in Punjab went to the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP). A major surprise came in NA-18 Haripur, where PML-N’s Babar Nawaz Khan defeated the PTI-backed candidate, marking a significant political upset.

PML-N swept all six National Assembly seats it contested. In NA-18 Haripur, Babar Nawaz Khan won decisively with 163,996 votes, defeating PTI’s Shehrnaz Umar Ayub, who received 120,220 votes. The victory was seen as a major blow to PTI, especially in a region that had previously supported the party. In NA-96 Jaranwala, PML-N’s Bilal Badar Chaudhry triumphed with 93,999 votes, leaving independent candidate Nawab Malik Sher Waseer in second place with 43,025 votes.

In other National Assembly contests, PML-N maintained its momentum. Chaudhry Tufail won in NA-143 Chichawatni, and Hafiz Noman secured victory in NA-129 Lahore, defeating independent candidate Arsalan Ahmed. PML-N’s dominance continued in NA-185, where Sardar Mahmood Qadir Leghari defeated PPP’s Dost Muhammad Khosa. In NA-144, Raja Daniyal won with 52,791 votes, defeating Rana Adnan, who secured 19,262 votes.

The success in these key constituencies has solidified PML-N’s position in national politics. The party’s clean sweep in the National Assembly seats and strong performance in Punjab Assembly races signal continued political strength. The victory, particularly in regions that had previously been contested by PTI, reflects growing support for PML-N across the country.

This impressive electoral showing comes amid intense competition and shifting political alliances. PML-N’s victory is seen as a significant boost for the party, which has now firmly established its presence in multiple regions. The results also highlight the party’s strategic gains in both urban and rural constituencies.
