Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar paid his respects at Roza-e-Rasool (PBUH) during a visit to Madinah before returning to Pakistan.

According to the Foreign Office, Ishaq Dar arrived in Madinah on his way back to Islamabad following the completion of his official engagements in Cairo. During his stay, he visited Masjid-e-Nabawi and offered prayers at the sacred site.

Upon his arrival in Madinah, the deputy prime minister was received by senior Saudi officials and Pakistan’s ambassador to Saudi Arabia. The visit formed part of his return journey after attending diplomatic meetings and consultations in Egypt.

Officials said Ishaq Dar spent time at Roza-e-Rasool (PBUH), where he offered prayers and paid homage. Visits to the holy cities of Makkah and Madinah are often included in the schedules of Pakistani leaders traveling through Saudi Arabia, particularly when official commitments allow.

The foreign minister had recently traveled to Cairo, where he participated in high-level diplomatic engagements and meetings with regional leaders and foreign ministers. His discussions focused on matters of mutual interest, regional cooperation and developments affecting the wider Middle East region.

Following the completion of his engagements, Ishaq Dar proceeded to Madinah before departing for Pakistan. The Foreign Office stated that he is expected to arrive in Islamabad later today.

Pakistan and Saudi Arabia maintain close diplomatic, economic and strategic relations, with regular exchanges between senior officials of both countries. Such visits often provide opportunities for discussions on bilateral cooperation as well as broader regional issues.

The visit to Madinah also reflects the spiritual significance the holy city holds for Muslims around the world. Pakistani leaders frequently take the opportunity to offer prayers and seek blessings during official or transit visits to Saudi Arabia.
