Samar Khan completes Arctic dogsled expedition

Pakistani adventure athlete and snowboarder Samar Khan has successfully completed the Fjallraven Polar 2026, crossing the finish line of a gruelling 300-kilometre dogsled journey across the frozen Arctic tundra.
Sharing her achievement on social media, Khan described the expedition as far more than a physical challenge, saying it tested her endurance, resilience, and mental strength. She noted that the journey pushed her through moments of exhaustion and self-doubt, forcing her to confront limits she had never previously experienced.
The multi-day expedition took participants through extreme sub-zero conditions, where survival depends on teamwork, discipline, and the ability to endure isolation in one of the world’s harshest environments. Khan said the silence and vastness of the Arctic landscape made the experience both physically demanding and emotionally intense.

She also revealed that her journey was marked by uncertainty even before departure, as visa delays nearly prevented her participation. According to Khan, she received her passport just one day before her scheduled flight, adding to the pressure surrounding the expedition.
Despite these challenges, she completed the race and dedicated the achievement not only to herself but to Pakistan. She described the milestone as a moment of national pride, highlighting the importance of representation in global adventure sports.
Khan also expressed gratitude to the expedition organisers and supporting institutions for facilitating her participation. The Fjallraven Polar is known for testing participants through long-distance dogsled travel across remote Arctic terrain, requiring both physical stamina and mental resilience.
Her accomplishment has been widely seen as an inspiring example of determination, encouraging others to pursue ambitious goals despite obstacles.
