Saudia Introduces Apple Tracking Feature for Passenger Baggage

Saudia Launches Apple’s Find My Feature for Baggage Tracking
Saudi Arabia’s national airline, Saudia, has introduced Apple’s Find My Share Item Location feature to help passengers track lost baggage. This service will especially benefit travelers from Pakistan who frequently fly to Saudi Arabia for Hajj, Umrah, business, or family visits. The feature allows passengers to share their luggage’s location through Apple’s Find My app directly via Saudia’s digital portal.
Once passengers receive their baggage, location sharing ends automatically. They can also choose to stop sharing at any time. If not manually stopped, the feature expires after seven days. This step is part of Saudia’s plan to enhance passenger comfort through modern, secure, and digital services.
Abdulqader Attiah, Saudia Group’s Chief Data and Technology Officer, said this move shows their commitment to innovation. He emphasized that the airline is focused on improving travel experiences with smart, technology-based solutions.
The Find My feature works through Apple’s network of over one billion devices. It uses Bluetooth to track the item’s location. All data shared is encrypted and anonymous, ensuring privacy for users and protection of personal information.
To use the feature, travelers must have an iPhone with iOS 18.2, iPad with iPadOS 18.2, or a Mac with macOS 15.2 or later. The update is expected to make travel safer and more convenient for millions of passengers, including those flying from Pakistan.
