Sheikh Rashid Appeals for Justice and Economic Relief For Citizens

RAWALPINDI: Sheikh Rashid Ahmed, head of the Awami Muslim League and former federal minister, appealed to authorities for justice. He called for economic relief for citizens amid rising inflation and unemployment. Speaking to the media outside the Anti-Terrorism Court, he stressed that appeals should be heard in the name of God and the Prophet (PBUH). He emphasized fairness and timely action in legal matters.

Sheikh Rashid highlighted the case of his nephew, Rashid Shafiq, who received a 40-year prison sentence. He claimed Shafiq was innocent and had no involvement in the alleged crimes. He criticized the decision for being made without proper examination. He urged the courts to review the matter thoroughly and deliver justice. The former minister expressed concern over wrongful convictions affecting innocent families.

Regarding recent suggestions by Alima Khan, Sheikh Rashid addressed the proposed addition of a doctor to the founder’s medical team. He said the doctor should be allowed to join without causing any issues. He argued that including the medical professional would benefit the team. He emphasized cooperation and practical solutions in such appointments. This reflects his broader call for fairness in administrative decisions.

Touching on the economic crisis, Sheikh Rashid noted that soaring prices and unemployment have disrupted daily life. He urged the government to show mercy to citizens. With the upcoming month of Ramadan, Sheikh Rashid requested special relief for the underprivileged. He highlighted the spiritual and practical importance of fasting during the holy month. He suggested concessions and support to help citizens meet their religious obligations. He urged authorities to act promptly to ease economic pressures. His appeal combined moral, economic, and social considerations for the benefit of society.
