The Sindh government has announced a public holiday on December 27 to mark the 18th death anniversary of Benazir Bhutto. Government offices and local councils across the province will remain closed to honor her memory.
A formal notification from the Services, General Administration, and Coordination Department confirmed the closure. All provincial government offices, autonomous and semi-autonomous bodies, corporations, and local councils will observe the holiday.
The announcement aims to allow citizens and officials to pay tribute to the former prime minister. Various commemorative events and gatherings are expected throughout the province.
Earlier in the week, Sindh also observed a public holiday on December 25 for Christmas. This date coincides with the birth anniversary of Quaid-e-Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah, the founder of Pakistan.
The government’s decision highlights the importance of remembering national leaders. Citizens are encouraged to participate in memorial activities and reflect on their contributions to the country.
