A 19-year-old girl lost her life in a tragic road accident in Ghaziabad, India, while attempting to film a social media video during high-speed motorcycle riding, according to Indian media reports.

Police said the victim, identified as Iqra, was riding a motorcycle at high speed while her friend, Hashmi, was seated with her and recording a video at the time of the incident. The footage reportedly went viral on social media after the crash, showing the duo riding without helmets and engaging in reckless speeding.

Authorities stated that the accident occurred within moments of the recording, when the motorcycle reportedly lost control. Both riders sustained severe injuries.

Emergency responders and police reached the scene shortly after receiving information and shifted both individuals to a nearby hospital. Doctors declared Iqra dead on arrival, while her friend remains in critical condition under medical care.

Police added that Iqra was a 12th-grade student and had aspirations of joining the police force. Officials also confirmed that both young individuals had left home without informing their families.

The incident has once again raised concerns about the growing trend of dangerous social media stunt videos among young people, particularly involving motorcycles and high-speed driving without safety gear.

Authorities have urged the public, especially youth, to avoid risky behaviour for online content creation and to follow road safety rules, including the use of helmets and adherence to traffic regulations.

The case highlights the increasing number of road accidents linked to reckless driving and the influence of viral social media trends across urban areas in India.
