NADRA Introduces Easier Method for Replacing Expired or Lost ID Cards

The National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) has announced a simplified process for citizens whose non-chip national identity cards have either expired or been lost or stolen.
According to NADRA, instead of applying for a renewal or reporting the card as lost, citizens can now submit a modification request to obtain a new card. This request can be made at any NADRA centre or conveniently through the Pak-ID mobile app.
This updated method allows individuals to receive an upgraded card with features similar to a smart card, even if the card itself does not contain a chip, offering better functionality at a lower cost.
ID Card Fees and Processing Time:
- Normal Service: Rs. 400 – Delivery in 15 days
- Urgent Service: Rs 1,150 – Delivery in 12 days
- Executive Service: Rs. 2,150 – Delivery in 6 days
NADRA officials emphasised that this approach saves time and money while still providing enhanced features for the users.
How to Apply:
To apply for a modified ID card, visit your nearest NADRA office or use the Pak-ID mobile application. Make sure to attach the required documents during the application process.
