Severe Cold Grips Skardu, Azad Kashmir After Snowfall

Skardu and surrounding areas in Azad Kashmir are experiencing extreme cold weather after recent snowfall. Temperatures have plummeted to minus-15 in upper areas and minus-10 in plains, making it one of the coldest regions in the country.

Sporadic snowfall continued in Skardu, with around four inches of snow recorded in the area and eight inches in the upper areas. The Met Office predicts that the snowfall will subside within the next 24 hours, but temperatures are expected to drop further, intensifying the cold weather.

In Azad Kashmir, the first rainfall of the winter has also brought severe cold to Rawalakot and surrounding areas. The minimum temperature in the region has dropped to minus 03, according to the Met Office. The harsh weather conditions have disrupted daily life, with residents advised to take necessary precautions to stay warm and safe.
