During the attack, civilian Ahmed al-Ahmed, 44, intervened to disarm one of the attackers.His bravery helped save multiple lives in Sydney on Sunday evening.Ahmed sustained injuries during the confrontation and is recovering in hospital.Doctors confirmed he will undergo further surgery on Wednesday.
Prime Minister Albanese visited Ahmed in the hospital, calling him a “true Australian hero.”Ahmed remained humble despite his injuries, focused on his recovery and well-being.He thanked supporters in a video message, asking prayers for strength and healing.Albanese also met Ahmed’s parents, praising their son’s actions and values.
