Islamabad: Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar has been nominated for the Sitara-i-Imtiaz, in recognition of his efforts to effectively present Pakistan’s stance during recent tensions with India on the global stage.
The nomination was made by the Pakistan Armed Forces, acknowledging his vital role in crisis communication.
Alongside him, Press Information Officer Mubasher Hasan has also been nominated for the same honour. Both played a key role in projecting Pakistan’s narrative to international media during a critical period.
The Sitara-i-Imtiaz is Pakistan’s third-highest civilian and military award, presented annually on March 23 (Pakistan Day) to individuals who have rendered exceptional services to the nation.
These nominations underscore the crucial role of media and information officials in conflict situations, ensuring that Pakistan’s voice is heard and understood globally.
Separately, Minister Tarar rejected the opposition’s recent claims about the economy, calling them misleading and irresponsible. He pointed to declining inflation, rising exports, and a steadily improving stock market as signs of economic recovery.
