Greater Israel plans a grave threat to peace: Ishaq Dar

Jeddah: Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar has strongly rejected the “Greater Israel” project, calling it a serious threat to regional peace.

Speaking at the OIC Council of Foreign Ministers meeting, Dar condemned Israel’s actions in Gaza as blatant violations of international law. He noted that over 60,000 Palestinians, including women and children, have been killed so far.

He said attacks on hospitals, schools, and refugee camps are clear breaches of global norms, adding that Gaza is facing famine-like conditions, and urgent humanitarian aid is essential.

Dar emphasised that Pakistan fully supports the joint position of 31 Islamic countries, endorsing the two-state solution as the only path to lasting peace in Palestine.

He shared that Pakistan has proposed seven immediate actions at the UN, with a permanent and unconditional ceasefire as the top priority. He called on the UN Security Council to take strong measures against Israel.

Dar reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to continue mobilising global opinion in favour of Palestinian self-determination as a non-permanent member of the UN Security Council.
