Heavy rain forecast: Karachi schools to remain closed tomorrow

Karachi: The Sindh government has announced the closure of all public and private schools in Karachi tomorrow due to the forecast of heavy rainfall.

According to the provincial education minister, the decision was taken as a precaution amid expected downpours that may cause urban flooding in low-lying areas.

The Pakistan Meteorological Department has warned that a strong monsoon system is affecting parts of the country, including Karachi, with rain expected to continue over the next 48 hours.

While the rain may bring temporary relief from the ongoing heat and humidity, authorities have urged residents—especially in flood-prone areas—to take precautions and avoid unnecessary travel.

In addition to Karachi, districts such as Tharparkar, Umerkot, Mirpurkhas, Sanghar, Badin, Hyderabad, and Shaheed Benazirabad are also expected to receive rain.
