Rawalpindi: PTI founder Imran Khan has filed a complaint with the CPO Rawalpindi, seeking the registration of a case against Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz and seven others over alleged mistreatment in jail.
The application, submitted via courier by lawyer Tabish Farooq, claims that Imran Khan is being denied basic prison facilities on the instructions of Maryam Nawaz.
According to the complaint, Khan’s jail cell lacks proper lighting, and he is not allowed to meet his family, which the petition states is a violation of prisoner’s rights and court orders.
The complaint names Maryam Nawaz, the Superintendent of Adiala Jail, ASP Zainab, SHO Aizaz, and others as respondents. It also highlights Maryam Nawaz’s past statements against Imran Khan as evidence of a political vendetta.
The petition urges the CPO to initiate legal proceedings and register an FIR against the individuals named.
