Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar briefed foreign diplomats at the Foreign Office on Tuesday, providing details about the government’s handling of the political protest on November 24.

Dar explained that the government exercised full patience during the protest and clarified that law enforcement agencies were not equipped with live ammunition. Instead, they used water cannons, tear gas, and batons to manage the situation.

He also stated that the Army was called in according to the constitution and played a supportive role in protecting key institutions, including the diplomatic corps, Parliament House, the Prime Minister’s House, and the Presidency.

The Deputy Prime Minister expressed disappointment over the use of resources by the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government in the protest, stressing that no provincial government has the right to march on the capital.
