Minister Atta Tarar Thanks Sri Lankan Team for Continuing Pakistan Tour

ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar expressed gratitude to the Sri Lankan cricket team for continuing their tour of Pakistan despite recent concerns.

In a post on social media platform X (formerly Twitter), Tarar said:

“Heartfelt thanks to the Sri Lankan cricket team for their visit to Pakistan and for always supporting the spirit of cricket. Your presence is an honor for us.”

Earlier, Federal Interior Minister and PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi commended the Sri Lankan side, saying:

“The Sri Lankan team has set a great example of sportsmanship and solidarity. Their spirit of friendship and fair play is truly admirable.”

According to the schedule, Pakistan and Sri Lanka will play two ODIs on November 14 and 16 in Rawalpindi.

Following PCB’s assurance of foolproof security, the Sri Lanka Cricket Board (SLC) officially confirmed that the tour will continue.

The SLC statement noted:

  • Players have been instructed to continue the tour.

  • Any player wishing to return home will not be stopped.

  • Replacements will be sent to Pakistan if needed.

The statement added that PCB has provided full security assurances for the visiting team.
