OIC Chief: Israel will not be allowed to occupy Gaza

Riyadh: Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Chair and Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan firmly declared that Israel will not be allowed to occupy Gaza, stressing the urgent need for coordinated pressure on Israel to resolve the Palestinian crisis.
Speaking at the 21st Extraordinary Session of the OIC Council of Foreign Ministers in Riyadh, Fidan said Israeli aggression has brought Gaza to the brink of famine and destruction, calling on all OIC member states to adopt a unified strategy. He reaffirmed that a two-state solution remains the only path to lasting peace.
Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar represented the country at the high-level meeting.
Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan also addressed the session, calling Israel’s vision of a “Greater Israel” a grave threat to regional peace. He urged the international community to act decisively against Israel’s violations and emphasised the immediate need to lift the blockade on Gaza.
Prince Faisal demanded:
Uninterrupted humanitarian aid to Gaza.
Continued support for UN agencies, including UNRWA.
Recognition of the urgent need for the establishment of a Palestinian state.
A Palestinian representative at the meeting described the situation in Gaza as an famine of human origin, saying Palestinians trust that the Muslim world stands with them.
