Islamabad: On the occasion of Independence Day, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir stated that the Pakistan Army is fully prepared and equipped to counter traditional, non-traditional, and hybrid threats.
In his message, he paid tribute to the martyrs of the freedom struggle and the recent “Marka e Haq”, honouring their courage, sacrifice, and unwavering faith.
He emphasised that Pakistan seeks peace, development, and prosperity in the region—but will never compromise on its freedom or sovereignty. Any aggression against national integrity will be met with an immediate and decisive response.
Referring to the Indian attack on civilian areas on the night of May 6–7, the Field Marshal condemned the Modi government’s aggression and noted that, with the nation’s support, the military launched Operation Bunyān Mursūs, delivering a resounding defeat to the enemy.
He reaffirmed Pakistan’s unwavering support for the people of Occupied Jammu & Kashmir, stating that the right to self-determination is the only just and lasting solution. He also reiterated Pakistan’s solidarity with the people of Palestine, urging the international community to take urgent action to protect their rights.
