Washington D.C.: U.S. President Donald Trump has declared a state of emergency in the nation’s capital, citing a sharp rise in violent crime.
Calling Washington D.C. “extremely unsafe,” Trump claimed that in 2024, the city would record the highest murder rate globally. “We will make the city safe again,” he vowed.
Under the emergency order, additional responsibilities will be assigned to local police and FBI personnel, and Trump warned that military deployment remains an option if required.
