Punjab’s provincial government has reaffirmed its commitment to inter-provincial cooperation and continued development efforts aimed at improving public welfare and economic growth across the region.

Provincial Information Minister Uzma Bukhari stated that if any province seeks guidance or assistance in development projects, the Punjab government is ready to extend full support. She emphasized that the current administration is focused on practical governance under the leadership of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif.

Speaking after a recent cabinet meeting, she said several key public welfare decisions were approved, including initiatives aimed at strengthening infrastructure, improving services, and supporting vulnerable communities.

One of the major approvals includes the establishment of a provincial insurance company, which officials say will benefit both government employees and the general public by providing accessible coverage and financial security options.

The government also approved a significant development fund of 23 billion rupees for the Kacha (riverine) areas, aimed at improving basic infrastructure such as roads, healthcare, and education facilities in remote and underdeveloped regions.

In addition, the “Apna Khet Apna Rozgar” scheme has reportedly received more than 200,000 applications, with around 30,000 land plots identified so far. Officials say the initiative is designed to provide employment opportunities and support agricultural development.

The minister further noted that funds for minority welfare cards have been increased, reflecting the government’s focus on inclusive development. She added that the provincial administration is working on a policy of early completion of development projects to ensure timely delivery of public services.

Authorities say these measures collectively reflect a broader strategy to strengthen governance, improve agricultural productivity, and expand social protection programs across Punjab.
