A shocking incident in India’s Bengaluru city has emerged in which a man allegedly killed his 75-year-old disabled mother by throwing her from the fourth floor of a building.

According to Indian media reports, the victim, identified as Savitri, was physically disabled and bedridden following a stroke several years ago. The accused, her son Venkatesh, had been caring for her since the death of his father nearly a decade ago. However, police say he later became overwhelmed by the responsibility of her care.

The incident came to light when the building owner, Vikram, heard a loud noise coming from the rear side of the apartment complex. He immediately alerted the police. Upon reaching the scene, authorities found the elderly woman critically injured, and she was declared dead on the spot.

Police arrested the accused shortly after the incident on charges of murder. During initial interrogation, Venkatesh confessed to the crime. He stated that his mother had suffered a stroke around five years ago and had been bedridden since then. He further claimed that he had to leave his job to take care of her, and over time, her condition showed no signs of improvement, which caused him severe emotional distress.

Investigators said the accused lived on the first floor of the building, while the incident took place on the fourth floor where he allegedly carried his mother before pushing her down.

The case has triggered widespread shock and outrage, highlighting issues of elder care, mental health strain, and caregiver burnout in society. Police say further investigation is underway.
