U.S. Secretary of State and global leaders extend Independence Day greetings to Pakistan

Washington: On the occasion of Pakistan’s 78th Independence Day, U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio congratulated the people of Pakistan and praised the country’s efforts in counterterrorism, trade, and economic cooperation.

In his message, Rubio emphasised the United States’ desire to expand collaboration with Pakistan in emerging sectors such as critical minerals, energy, and business partnerships, aiming to promote a prosperous future for both nations.

Members of the U.S. Congress also sent goodwill messages. Congressional representative Judy Chu expressed pride in the Pakistani-American community, while Congressional representative Zoe Lofgren highlighted the vital role of Pakistani Americans in the growth and innovation of Silicon Valley.

Meanwhile, EU Ambassador to Pakistan Riina Kionka also extended her Independence Day wishes, reaffirming friendly ties and continued cooperation between Pakistan and the European Union.
