AJK public rejects protest call, normal life continues

MUZAFFARABAD: Daily life continued uninterrupted across Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) on Monday as residents largely stayed away from a protest call issued by a banned Joint Action Committee, according to local reports.
Normal business, educational, and social activities were observed in the region’s major cities and towns, including Muzaffarabad, Mirpur, Bhimber and Kotli.
Markets, shopping centers and commercial areas remained open throughout the day, while transportation services also continued to operate normally. Educational institutions and workplaces functioned according to their regular schedules, indicating limited public response to the protest appeal.
Residents in different parts of Azad Kashmir carried on with their daily routines, and no significant disruption to public life was reported. Business owners and traders continued commercial activities, while citizens attended schools, offices and other engagements as usual.

Observers noted that the overall atmosphere remained peaceful across the region. Public movement in urban centers remained steady, and routine economic activity continued without interruption.
