Eid al-Adha

Riyadh – Eid al-Adha is being observed today across Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, and other Gulf countries with religious devotion. Large congregational prayers were held at Masjid al-Haram in Makkah and Masjid an-Nabawi in Madinah, attended by thousands of worshippers.

According to details, several European countries also marked Eid al-Adha today. Worshippers in the holy cities of Makkah and Madinah gathered early in the morning to offer Eid prayers, which were followed by sermons emphasising the values of sacrifice, unity, and compassion.

Meanwhile, Hajj pilgrims have begun moving from Muzdalifah to Mina to perform the ritual of Ramy al-Jamarat (stoning of the devil). After pelting the largest pillar, pilgrims will proceed to sacrifice animals, shave or trim their hair, and exit the state of Ihram. The pilgrimage continues with Tawaf al-Ziyarah and Sa’i at the Grand Mosque in Makkah.

In addition, countries like the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada, and parts of Europe will observe Eid al-Adha on different days. While some members of the Muslim community are celebrating today (Sunday), others will mark the occasion on Monday.

In the United Arab Emirates—including cities such as Dubai, Abu Dhabi, and Sharjah—Eid prayers were also held with large participation from residents and expatriates.

In Pakistan, the Bohra community is celebrating Eid al-Adha today. Congregational prayers were offered at various mosques in Karachi, including areas like Saddar, Pakistan Chowk, Hyderi, and Baloch Colony.
