LESCO Presents 27-Point Plan to LHC for Basant Electricity

LAHORE – The Lahore Electric Supply Company (LESCO) has submitted a 27-point plan to the Lahore High Court. The plan aims to ensure uninterrupted electricity supply and safety measures during the Basant festival. LESCO highlighted steps to manage power demands and respond to electricity-related complaints efficiently. Authorities said the measures are part of preparations for the citywide celebrations. The plan demonstrates coordination between LESCO and local administration for a smooth festive experience.
According to LESCO’s report, a Central Control and Command Center will be set up at its headquarters. This center will address electricity complaints and monitor the city’s power supply during the festival. In addition, a control room will operate at the Commissioner’s Office for coordination with the provincial government. These measures aim to ensure rapid response to any electricity issues. Officials emphasized constant monitoring to prevent power outages in critical areas.
The report also stated that a dedicated control room will be established at the Data Darbar Division. This will ensure continuous electricity supply in the Lahore Walled City. Meanwhile, the Lahore Sub-Division will keep the electricity complaints helpline 111 fully operational. Residents can call the helpline to report faults or emergencies during Basant celebrations. The system is designed to maintain power stability across the city.

Authorities have granted permission to celebrate Basant from February 6 to 8. The sale of kites and kite strings will begin today in Lahore. The move signals a return of the city’s traditional festival after safety assessments. LESCO and city administration are working together to ensure a secure environment for citizens. Safety measures include monitoring, control rooms, and quick-response teams for emergencies.
On the festive front, several major roads in Lahore have been decorated ahead of Basant. Liberty Chowk, Jail Road, Canal Road, Mall Road, and Main Boulevard Gulberg are adorned with colorful lights. The decorations create a vibrant atmosphere for residents and visitors alike. The city’s preparation highlights both energy management and the cultural celebration of Basant.
