Air traffic passing through Pakistan’s airspace has increased by about 15% due to rising regional tensions in the Middle East. Officials said that the growing number of flights is bringing more revenue to the Pakistan Airports Authority. The situation has also highlighted the importance of Middle East tension and Pakistan airspace overflight increase for the country’s aviation earnings.
Sources said that more than 700 flights are now passing over Pakistan daily. Due to this increase, the aviation authority is earning about 800,000 dollars per day from overflying aircraft. Before the current situation, around 550 to 600 flights used to cross Pakistani airspace daily.
The increase in overflight traffic has resulted in an additional daily revenue rise of about 150,000 dollars. Officials believe that the regional situation has indirectly helped improve aviation income, though it is mainly due to geopolitical circumstances.
