The Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee is scheduled to meet today to observe the moon of Zil Hajj across Pakistan. The announcement has raised anticipation nationwide as it will determine the exact date of Eid ul Adha 2026.

According to the Ministry of Religious Affairs, the official meeting will be held at the Meteorological Department office in Karachi. Religious scholars, meteorologists, and officials will assess moon sighting reports from different regions.

If the moon is sighted today, Eid ul Adha will be celebrated on Wednesday, May 27, 2026. However, if the crescent is not visible, the festival will fall on Thursday, May 28, 2026.

Authorities have urged citizens to report any credible moon sightings to the relevant offices to ensure an accurate and unified announcement.

Meanwhile, Saudi Arabia’s Supreme Court has also called on citizens to look for the Zil Hajj moon on the evening of 30th Dhul Qa’dah. Witnesses are encouraged to submit their testimonies to local courts.

The decision in Saudi Arabia is significant, as it determines the dates for Hajj rituals, including the Day of Arafah, observed by millions of pilgrims.

Muslims around the world eagerly await the official moon sighting announcements, as Eid ul Adha marks one of the most important Islamic festivals, symbolizing sacrifice, unity, and devotion.
