PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar stresses unity against terrorism

ISLAMABAD – Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Barrister Gohar Ali Khan has called for a unified national stance against terrorism, stating that the issue should not be used for political point-scoring.
Speaking to the media outside Adiala Jail, Barrister Gohar addressed questions regarding his changing position on attending the National Security Committee meeting. When asked about his earlier statement indicating willingness to participate, he clarified, “Even as chairman, I cannot make unilateral decisions. This is a party decision.”
Emphasizing national interest, he added, “There is no doubt that Pakistan comes first. However, our party had set conditions, including a meeting with the party’s founder. We formally requested this meeting and continue to pursue it.”
Dismissing allegations that PTI frequently raises objections on national security matters, he asserted, “Terrorism should not be a divisive issue. No politics should be played over it. The entire nation must stand together with a singular narrative, as stability in Pakistan benefits everyone.”
When questioned about the party’s decision to set conditions before attending security briefings, Barrister Gohar refrained from personal opinions, stating, “Once the party makes a decision, I do not comment on it.”
