Pakistan Rangers conducted an operation in Shah Latif Town and arrested a wanted militant allegedly linked to the banned militant network known as Fitna al-Khawarij, according to an official statement issued on Friday.

Authorities claimed that he joined the Fazlullah group in 2007 and was allegedly involved in several violent activities in the region.
According to the statement, the suspect was accused of taking part in attacks on schools and a police checkpost in areas of Swat using improvised explosive devices (IEDs). He was also allegedly involved in an attack on Matta police station, during which government weapons were looted and the building was set on fire.
Officials stated that during military operations in 2008, the suspect went into hiding in Mingora before reportedly fleeing abroad. Investigators believe he returned to Pakistan in 2022 and resumed involvement in militant activities.
